Spring 2006 Recap

First of all, we would like to thank everyone who came out to the Spring 2006 Import Showdown this past weekend! Nearly 200 cars made passes and nearly 900 watched, braving 95 degree weather over the two day event! Tech lines ran smoothly and the staging lanes moved quickly with our new two day format! We had some great racing in our competitions, with our two most competitive classes being won by 10 second cars! We gave away and paid out over $4000 in cash and prizes to competitors!! With predications early in the week of rain, there was hardly a cloud in the sky. Though hot, both days were beautiful!

As with all of the Import Showdown events, the variety of cars continues to amaze us. Hondas, DSMs, SRT4s, 240s, RX7s and RX8s, Zs, Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, Leuxs, Ford, Chevy - you name it!

We would definitely like to thank our sponsors, Spec Clutches and Flywheels who gave out TShirts, gift certificates, and a 1 year clutch sponsorship!!! We would also like to thank Knowledge Performance, Top Speed, 4G Performance, Siegel Racing, and Spin Performance. Valvoline was also on hand Saturday giving away cases of synthetic motor oil!

We would also like to thank the folks at Silver Dollar Raceway for helping us put on this great event. Ed and company at Silver Dollar continue to be a major reason this event happens and is so successful.

We have TONS of pictures and video, as well as the complete results from all of our competitions. Pictures and results should be up in the next 24 hours. We have several hours of video so they will likely to appear over the next 48 hours. We did not capture everything, however, if you would like to request video of a specific run, please email us at info@importshowdown.com. Because we have so much video, it may take us some time to determine if we have the exact run you are looking for. Also, if you have video or picture posted on the internet, please let us know so we can share with everyone. If you need someone to host video or picture of the event, please email us!
